It's a theory I've been working on.

So this is really what's enabling us to deal with the explosion of data in medicine, together with some really nifty work in terms of algorithms compressing data, extracting the relevant information that people are doing research on.

And it funds a lot of my research.

We need to discover what those differences are.

This work, which was published in Nature,

Nowadays, people in the lab and people in other groups all over the world are using similar methods to activate or edit memories, whether that's old or new, positive or negative, all sorts of memories so that we can understand how memory works.

Is an Apollo Project of cooperation possible?

We were using it for research.

Right now the Sloan Foundation has just funded a multi institutional study on this, to work out what the risk and benefits to society are, and the rules that scientific teams such as my own should be using in this area, and we're trying to set good examples as we go forward.
