If you search Amazon for the word creativity, you'll discover something like 90,000 books.

Because we sit and get all day long.

This is mostly, to be honest with you, from the business sector innovation, creativity and change.

What are the environments that lead to unusual levels of innovation, unusual levels of creativity?

In some cases, I know that many of you are involved in cross cultural dialogues, you're involved in ideas of creativity and innovation.

They come from the ideas in our mind that are also fueled by some conviction in our heart.

What does this graph mean?

And it works.

Are there recurring patterns that we can learn from, that we can take and kind of apply to our own lives, or our own organizations, or our own environments to make them more creative and innovative?

We need adaptability, the ability to learn how to be creative and innovative.

But if what we want is to be like those butterflies, to have open mindedness, open learning, imagination, creativity, innovation, maybe at least some of the time we should be getting the adults to start thinking more like children.

Well, actually, there are two sides to the story.

Innovation isn't what we're after.

These are the day to day of life, and they do pose problems.

I think the notion that cities are engines of economic growth, cities are engines of creativity, cities are engines of innovation, have finally been accepted.

Ronald Reagan actually opened it up and made it an open platform that anybody could kind of build upon and anybody could come along and build new technology that would create and innovate on top of this open platform,

The fancy name for this, of course, is creativity.

They could be creative in terms of education, they may be creative in terms of culture, they may be creative in terms of institutions but a lot of our work is in the field of technological creativity, the innovations, either in terms of contemporary innovations, or in terms of traditional knowledge.

And so that's the request I have for everybody in this room.

What about creativity makes them smarter?

Look at it now.

Of communism of valuing the society and the state over the individual and squashing, inadvertently, creativity, individual self expression and innovation.

And I've come to believe that that kind of normalization is incredibly toxic to the things that we talk about, like passion, and creativity, and innovation.

Where does passion come from?
