There is actually a little spot right there that they drain in to.

Stay clear of the hepatic artery.

This is an arterial, right.

This led me to blood.

And I've drawn it as one tube with no split and this is the pulmonary trunk. Pulmonary trunk.

But, actually lungs are kind of interesting in the sense that there is a lot of mixing going on.

And this outer layer, this is the vasculature, which is incredible, around a human brain.

So you've got a couple of arteries that are branching off and these are also part of the systemic circulation systemic circulation.

I need two largebore Ivs, 6 units Oneg, type and cross for 6 more units,

What's happening between these two, time like here, is that blood is actually squeezing out because the pulmonic and aortic valves just opened, blood is squeezing out and going to the whole body.

So it's more disordered.

You can also see the evolution of the one child only policy as it travels through the bloodline.

We can understand functionality. This is really important.

No pulse. Blood pressure's dropping.

And then on the other side where the veins are bringing blood back to the heart most of the blood as it turns out, most of the blood actually goes this way into the pulmonary veins.

Inferior vena cava, and this is the large vein that brings back all the blood from the bottom half of the body.

This is an artery. And blood is actually going through the artery, that way.

And then you've got the capillaries, you've got some blood kind of from both places the pulmonary circulation and the blood from the systemic circulation again mixing.

He had a neck wound that severed his carotid artery, and that made him bleed to death.

There's also another one over here called the superior vena cava, and this is bringing back blood from the arms and head.

So let's get a little more precise with the words we've been talking about, especially with heart disease and heart failure and all of the rest.

This is what we call a plaque.

And these are called the bronchial arteries.

It's going to end up at the, maybe I should draw it here, it's ending up with the right atrium. That's just the name of the chamber where the blood ends up in.

And this is of course the aorta. This is my aorta.

And the Arotic valve is going to be what divides the left ventricle from this giant vessel that we talked about earlier.

In concluding the hip exam it is important to document neurovascular exam.

I mean, you've got red ones, and blue ones, and the blue ones are the veins, and the red ones are the arteries but are they part of the systemic flow, or pulmonary flow, or something else?

She's bleeding. Her heartbeat's dropping fast.

And anytime I mention the word vein, I just want to make sure you think of blood going towards the heart.

While the heart is not moving the surgeon can reroute blood vessels, the part of the heart muscles where clogged arteries are restricting the flow.

But this is not as I said in the beginning bad way of thinking about it.

So the first branches go and serve the heart. So it's kind of the first to get systemic circulation blood.

And so when people talk about arteries getting blocked or getting clogged, they're talking about the coronary arteries.

In concluding the knee exam, it's important to document a neurovascular exam.

So blood is headed towards the lungs, going first through the trunk, and of course after the trunk, there is left and right I write that up here pulmonary arteries are next.

And in the last video we saw that one of these clots can go downstream to some point where the arteries get narrow enough so that they actually block the arteries.

In concluding the ankle and foot exam, it's important to document neurovascular.

You can see how there are definetely some parallels between how the veins and arteries are set up.
