Sound Touch

And someone that comes along and says, Look here's a ball.

This is how she gets information about her world.

And that's kind of surprising, because your sense of touch is really important.

That red piece of brain tissue is your somatosensory cortex.

Our brains are constantly working, synchronizing what we see, hear, smell, and touch into meaningful experience in the moment to moment flow of the present.

It has two main components.

They have taste, not smell.

The skin's a whole another thing, probably the hardest part.

This is something I did of a tactile communication system.

The first is tactile sensations, things you feel in your skin.

But we'll just keep track of everything we touch.

You know, this is the parietal cortex, the somatosensory cortex, this is the touch of her skin, the texture of her clothes.

They seem very, very obsessed with finding out more about the ideal mate.

A synesthete might not only hear my voice, but also see it, taste it, or feel it as a physical touch.

And other FM devices implanted in fingertips, on contacting a surface, will send a message back to the sensory cortex of the brain, so that the person feels a sense of touch.

All right, and smoking.

It has the same bandwidth as a computer network.

This is the sea. And it must feel the water of the sea.

But there is something else that we are all experiencing in this room.

And I lied.

And that is, there are mirror neurons, just as there are mirror neurons for action, there are mirror neurons for touch.

So, in this video we're using an approach called the reactive approach.

Now, the question then arises

This is called Limit Out.

How can the nervous system misinterpret an innocent sensation

If the arm has been removed and you have a phantom, and you watch somebody else being touched, you feel it in your phantom.

You see, it's going the other way. Can I have the feeler here?

There's this sense that if the same piece of physical brain tissue can process sight or sound or touch then maybe there is one learning algorithm that can process sight or sound or touch.

We think about the world in all the ways that we experience it.

We call it haptography haptic photography.
