What's it like being an investment banker?

He started at the bank in the post of manager.

And in fact, in a way, it almost took down your empire at one point.

So how does that work?

It's an investment opportunity. Think about that.

I was wondering, a) what's it like being an investment banker, and b) would you write me a recommendation?

Then the number that pops out on the equity side, that is a book value of your equity.

We're now going to make all of our mortgage payments, the 10 payment, to this bank, this investment bank.

So essentially, these banks have a bunch of assets.

So let me delete this.

And if this is a loan from Bank B, Bank B would have an asset called loan to Bank A.

Whether people will continue to loan them money.

Well I have no debts, so I have 250,000 in cash, total.

Investment bankers are tearing their hair out over the crash.

So now the Special Purpose Entity is the owner of the mortgages .

They'll sell the loans to like, let's say, Bear Stearns. So that's an investment bank.

Why wouldn't I just pour all of my money?

But it's roughly the right number.

You can see a bit of the same thing happening in the business world.

It could be a whole set of people.

People start shorting the stock, the stock go starts going down.

And so that cash ended up here.

The bank accommodated the company with a loan.

Papa went to the bank to ask for another loan.

When we're told that banking is a very respectable profession, a lot of us want to go into banking.

Right?

But sell side analysts are the analysts that work for the major brokerages and investment banks, who publish those reports that you see in those ratings, a buy rating on

And of course, everybody who had loans to Bank A, maybe

Owns banks in the Caymans runs investment portfolios for offshore drug money.

So what I'm squaring off in magenta, that's the assets of that bank.

They borrowed it from their local mortgage broker, who then sold it to a bank, or to an investment bank, who created the special purpose entity, and then they IPO the special purpose entity and raise the money from people who bought the mortgage backed securities.

What does the data say?

This was the earnings of the company last year, or the last 12 months.

I worked after for an investment bank.

For whatever reason, that person wants their gold back.

Right?

Bank B has borrowed money from Bank C.

And then if we go to, let's say, 2003.

That means for every dollar you deposit, it loans out about nine or 10.

Even though there's lots of bad things about you, there are still some good things.

And then they give the mortgage to the investment banker, which packages them up and then sells them to investors.
