Now to charge the battery, we connect a source of electricity.

This has to be a bridge to the point where you can get to wind, to the point where you can get to solar, to the point where you can get to nuclear and hopefully you won't build the next nuclear plant on a beautiful seashore next to an earthquake fault.

Along the eastern seaboard, we're going to lead the nation in offshore wind.

We're often told though that only coal and nuclear plants can keep the lights on, because they're 24 7, whereas wind and solar power are variable, and hence supposedly unreliable.

If you go to nuclear, you do get a big reduction, but it's not as much as with wind and concentrated solar.

But that's only twice as big as 1.25 watts per square meter.

If in the time that it took me to walk out here on this stage, some tens of megawatts of wind power stopped pouring into the grid, the difference would have to be made up from other generators immediately.

The whole business is run on sustainable energy.
