Those who slander honorable, innocent, believing women are cursed in this life and in the Hereafter. They will have a terrible punishment.

Whosoever earns a fault or a sin and casts it upon the innocent, indeed, he bears the slander and a clear sin.

Those who slander believing men and women for what they have not done, will bear the burden of calumny and clear iniquity.

Those who slander chaste women, indiscreet but believing, are cursed in this life and in the Hereafter for them is a grievous Penalty,

And whoever commits a mistake, or a sin, and then blames it on an innocent person, has taken a slander and a clear sin.

When you heard it, you should have said, It is not for us to repeat this. By Your glory, this is a serious slander.

Those who affront believing men and believing women without their having deserved it done any wrong shall bear the weight of slander and flagrant sin.

But whoever earns an offense or a sin and then blames it on an innocent person has taken upon himself a slander and manifest sin.

And wherefore, when ye heard it, did ye not say it is not for us to speak thereof, hallowed be Thou! that is a slander mighty!

When you heard it, why did you not say, It is not right for us to speak of this. God forbid! This is a monstrous slander.

One who makes a mistake or commits a sin and ascribes it to an innocent person, he only burdens himself with slander and a grave sin.

And those who harm believing men and believing women for something other than what they have earned have certainly born upon themselves a slander and manifest sin.

Why then, did not the believers, men and women, when you heard it (the slander) think good of their own people and say This (charge) is an obvious lie?

And why, when you heard it, did you not say, It is not for us to speak of this. Exalted are You, O Allah this is a great slander ?

And why did ye not, when ye heard it, say? It is not right of us to speak of this Glory to Allah! this is a most serious slander!

There is no slander that provides an excuse for people to burn a restaurant in Lebanon, or destroy a school in Tunis, or cause death and destruction in Pakistan.

And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him).

Those who charge with slander those Believing women, who are chaste but simple souls, are accursed in this world and in the Hereafter there is a great punishment for them.

Lo! those who love that slander should be spread concerning those who believe, theirs will be a painful punishment in the world and the Hereafter. Allah knoweth. Ye know not.

When you heard of it, why didn't the Believing men and the Believing women have a good opinion of themselves, and why did they not say, This is a manifest slander?
