They say the gods smite evil with thunderbolts.

Smite down our enemies and trample them swiftly underfoot.

Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead,

Lord, shall we smite with our swords? Come on, arrest Him.

There, no fatigue shall smite them, nor shall they ever be driven from it'

no fatigue there shall smite them, neither shall they ever be driven forth from there.

When thy Lord was revealing to the angels, 'I am with you so confirm the believers. I shall cast into the unbelievers' hearts terror so smite above the necks, and smite every finger of them!'

When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying) I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger.

Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message) I am with you give firmness to the Believers I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips off them.

We commanded Moses Smite the sea with your staff. And it parted, and every parting was like a lofty mountain.

But how (will it be) when the angels take their souls at death, and smite their faces and their backs?

And recall what time thy Lord inspired the angels verily I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed will cast horror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so smite them above the neck and smite of them every fingertip.

Father, I fear that some chastisement from the All merciful will smite thee, so that thou becomest a friend to Satan.

And be cautious against a sedition that will not smite the harmdoers alone. Know that the punishment of Allah is Stern.

Then We inspired Moses, saying Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast.

And fear a trial which shall surely not smite in particular the evildoers among you and know that God is terrible in retribution.

And those who disbelieve would almost smite you with their eyes when they hear the reminder, and they say Most surely he is mad.

And fear an affliction which may not smite those of you in particular who are unjust and know that Allah is severe in requiting (evil).

And beware of an affliction that will not smite exclusively those among you who have done wrong. Know that God is severe in exacting retribution.

Then We revealed unto Musa, saying smite thou the sea with thy staff. So it became separated, and each part was like unto a cliff mighty.

And We said Smite him with some of it. Thus Allah bringeth the dead to life and showeth you His portents so that ye may understand.

But the evils that they earned smote them and such of these as do wrong, the evils that they earn will smite them they cannot escape.

Wherefore We said smite him with part of her. Thus will Allah quicken the dead and He sheweth you His signs that haply ye may under stand.

O ye who believe! If an evil liver bring you tidings, verify it, lest ye smite some folk in ignorance and afterward repent of what ye did.

so We said, 'Smite him with part of it' even so God brings to life the dead, and He shows you His signs, that haply you may have understanding.

If thou couldst see, when the angels take the souls of the Unbelievers (at death), (How) they smite their faces and their backs, (saying) Taste the penalty of the blazing Fire

And if you could see when the angels take away the souls of those who disbelieve (at death), they smite their faces and their backs, (saying) Taste the punishment of the blazing Fire.

Is it not a guidance to those who inherit the earth after those who inhabited it that, did We will, We would smite them because of their sins, sealing their hearts so they do not hear?

Is it not plain to those who inherit the earth after its inhabitants that if We willed We could smite them for their sins and set a seal upon their hearts, so that they do not hear.

And when Allah revealed to the angels, saying 'I shall be with you. Give courage to the believers. I shall cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. Strike them above the necks, smite their finger tips'

And the Lord said to the angels I am with you go and strengthen the faithful. I shall fill the hearts of infidels with terror. So smite them on their necks and every joint, (and incapacitate them),

And (it was said unto him) Take in thine hand a branch and smite therewith, and break not thine oath. Lo! We found him steadfast, how excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (to his Lord).

Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil doing) that, if We will, We can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not?

(Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes.

And when a token cometh unto them, they say We will not believe till we are given that which Allah's messengers are given. Allah knoweth best with whom to place His message. Humiliation from Allah and heavy punishment will smite the guilty for their scheming.

Say 'Are you waiting for anything to befall us except one of the two excellent things (victory or martyrdom)? We are waiting for the punishment of Allah to smite you, either from Him or at our hands. Wait if you will, we are waiting'

O my people, let not the breach with me move you, so that there smite you the like of what smote the people of Noah, or the people of Hood, or the people of Salih and the people of Lot are not far away from you.

So you did not slay them, but it was Allah Who slew them, and you did not smite when you smote (the enemy), but it was Allah Who smote, and that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

And recall what time Musa prayed for drink for his people. We said smite With thy staff the stone. Then there gushed forth thereout twelve springs every people already knew their drinking place eat and drink of the provision of Allah, and commit not evil on the earth as corrupters.

And when Moses asked for water for his people, We said Smite with thy staff the rock. And there gushed out therefrom twelve springs (so that) each tribe knew their drinking place. Eat and drink of that which Allah hath provided, and do not act corruptly, making mischief in the earth.

Grant us good things, both in this life and in the hereafter. To You alone we turn. He replied, As for My punishment, I smite with it anyone I will. But My mercy encompasses all things. I shall prescribe it for those who do their duty, pay the zakat and who believe in Our signs.

Yet thou seest those in whose hearts is sickness vying with one another to come to them, saying, 'We fear lest a turn of fortune should smite us.' But it may be that God will bring the victory, or some commandment from Him, and then they will find themselves, for that they kept secret within them, remorseful,

And prescribe for us in this world good, and in the world to come we have repented unto Thee.' Said He, 'My chastisement I smite with it whom I will and My mercy embraces all things, and I shall prescribe it for those who are godfearing and pay the alms, and those who indeed believe in Our signs,

And the likeness of those who spend their wealth in search of Allah's pleasure, and for the strengthening of their souls, is as the likeness of a garden on a height. The rainstorm smiteth it and it bringeth forth its fruit twofold. And if the rainstorm smite it not, then the shower. Allah is Seer of what ye do.

Write for us what is good in this life and in the Everlasting Life. To You alone we turn' He replied 'I will smite with My punishment whom I will yet My Mercy embraces all things. I will write it (My Mercy) to those who are cautious, give the obligatory charity, and believe in Our verses
