My theory is that you have an ability to think at a system level of design that pulls together design, technology and business, so if TED was TBD, design, technology and business, into one package, synthesize it in a way that very few people can and and this is the critical thing feel so damn confident in that clicked together package that you take crazy risks.

Because they wouldn't follow my design!

(Laughter)

Are we designing for the world that's coming, whether we're ready or not?

Solemn design is often important and very effective design.

For some of this kind of technology, ground center is a combination of design, which is crucially important.

If there's something that is copied with variation and it's selected, then you must get design appearing out of nowhere.

Finally, I have a thing for the keys on a flute or a clarinet.

I said, I have to talk to them about stories.

Are we designing for the world that we have?

This is... This is heavyduty, Doc. This is great.

And I think in our family we were very lucky, because we learned about design backwards.

A colorful tileset designed for kids of all ages.

For the upper class, designs for cars are needed.

We can't do that today because solar panels are heavy, expensive and very inefficient.

I'm simply admiring the design.

Then we adjust the content accordingly.

I thought the worst and silliest thing to do would be to go to Paris for six years. (Laughter)

For us there's the object for us, it was two projects.

Oh! Nice building! Who designed this?

It is also important if you are using some kind of engine, that already has a bunch of capability that really influences what you are going to design,

It's about getting that music thing going through their heads and their thinking.

I just kind of learned through doing.

Because, when you zoom out that far, you lose the ability to view people as humans.

We have to ask ourselves hard questions.

Both great designs and actually very innovative too.

It could be the design of the thing you're using.

But consider what Plato is doing here. What is he doing?

It's filled with the kind of craft laws that come from something being the first of its kind.

And I believe that this kind of perspective will only begin to grow as more leaders enter the space of art and design, because art and design lets you think like this, find different systems like this, and I've just begun thinking like this, so I'm glad to share that with you.

and this is a complete virtual design that is production costed manufacturable.

So in conclusion, I've found the five senses theory to be a very useful tool in evaluating different experiences in my life, and then taking those best experiences and hopefully incorporating them into my designs.

Well, there's all sorts of amazing new humanitarian designs that are being developed in collaborative ways all across the planet.

And then we thought, How stupid.

They can do graphic design, all kinds of stuff with computers, photography, industrial design.

I can't think about the design any more.

I've since learned that if you really want to make a difference in the world, you have to design outcomes.

Now, when I apply Russell Baker's definition of solemnity or seriousness to design, it doesn't necessarily make any particular point about quality.

You know, you may have smartphones, right? Oh!

(Laughter)

This wasn't in my design.

That's pretty cool. That's a lot of power.

I like this for a couple of reasons.

We can take this idea of participation perhaps to its logical conclusion and say that design may have its greatest impact when it's taken out of the hands of designers and put into the hands of everyone.
