All the statements inside the block are executed only when the test expression is True.

Usually we like to use four spaces that's just the convention in Python, and that makes it easy for people to see and read the code but all the lines in the block have to be indented the same amount.

In Python, white space is used for that.

When you're looking at the code, you can tell the control is going to flow down to the next line. if there's a statement in Python it's indented over.

If you look at someone else's code or you look at your own code, the structure of the code tells you what the code means, because it has to have the same indenting structure as the blocks that are interpreted by the Python interpreter.

The body of the procedure is the block. This is the code that runs to execute the procedure.

You can just take it out of the clause by getting rid of the indentation.

I was just wondering how Python knows that you are done defining your procedure and that it should carry on with the rest of the program.
