If the test expression doesn't evaluate to True, then the block doesn't execute.

In Python, white space is used for that.

When you're looking at the code, you can tell the control is going to flow down to the next line. if there's a statement in Python it's indented over.

The body of the procedure is the block. This is the code that runs to execute the procedure.

You can just take it out of the clause by getting rid of the indentation.

If this is enabled, the editor will display vertical lines to help identify indent lines.

All the statements inside the block are executed only when the test expression is True.

I was just wondering how Python knows that you are done defining your procedure and that it should carry on with the rest of the program.

So remember how we talked about html, how it converts all spaces to a single space and all new lines to a single new line?

But exceptions really represent this sort of nonlocal jump to somewhere else and the indenting of the coder, the structure of the code may not make it clear.
