Infantile...

Squished insect larva.

Larvae from the creature.

The egg hatches.

The larvae are creating a vibration...

Then, as soon as the ants the first group of ants emerge, they're larvae.

When I first began recording wild soundscapes 45 years ago,

They sporulated, the spores attract insects, the insects laid eggs, eggs became larvae.

This goes on for about a month.

She lays eggs, she feeds the larvae so an ant starts as an egg, then it's a larva.

It looks kind of like a maggot with big, nasty jaws.

The queen's in there somewhere she just lays eggs.

Okay.

Until we realized that just like us, we have a unique smell, that mosquito larvae also have a very unique smell.

So, they're very important.

If I sit there and bemoan the loss of the caterpillar, then I'm making myself sick and everything around me. Why? I'm not contributing to our evolution.

Walter seems to think that the larvae act like parasites,

And what they're doing is very interesting they're digging through the cow patties for the maggots, the grubs, the larvae of flies.

Little larvae hatch out in fresh water.

Now, how did I come to this particular position of advocacy?

Nuclear radiation turned him from a small grub into a 350foottall monster that attacked Tokyo.

But they forgot this the fact that birds dine on grubs, that robins eat lots of worms now saturated with DDT.

The cicada nymph was caught in a spider web, grew wings and flew away.

And after a few days, depending upon temperature, the egg will hatch and the larva of this parasite will eat the aphid from the inside.

So the problem that we face with this is that, throughout the landscape, all these pools of water with the larvae, they are scattered all over the place, which makes it very hard for an inspector like this to actually find all these breeding sites and treat them with insecticides.

The poison killed the larvae, but it also poisoned Charlie's blood.

He thinks he knows a way he can trick the larvae to selfdestructing.

I grew up in the Midwest of the United States.

So now, if you want to look at a pattern that's playing itself out on this planet right now that will give us insight about what is going on, look inside a caterpillar that's growing.

In summer it eats birds' eggs, wasps' larvae, berries and honey.

So the queen goes down in there.

And hopefully we can show the audience now how it is you do what you do.

You spend more time with your parents.

Just at the time when the caterpillars were coming out.

And so I begin with a story about my childhood.

I am as conflicted as I once was as a child.

And the reason he's waited three days is because he knows that on the fourth day or the fifth day, those larvae will hatch and he'll have a huge fly problem.

Now, during each of these five chapters when his mother was pregnant with him in his early childhood years when he was in elementary school when he was in middle school and then high school and when he was in the juvenile justice system during each of those five chapters, there were a wide variety of things that society could have done.
