What we saw was a natural experiment.

Sure, we invest plenty in innovation.

Surely, just as we invest in R and D, two, three, four percent, of our GDP, of our economy, what if we put, let's say, one percent of public spending into social innovation, into elder care, new kinds of education, new ways of helping the disabled?

But a demographic dividend is only as good as the investment in your human capital.

These programs can promote more and better jobs by, you build it, you invest in high quality preschool, it develops the skills of your local workforce if enough of them stick around, and, in turn, that higher quality local workforce will be a key driver of creating jobs and creating higher earnings per capita in the local community.
