So the wiggly lines at the top, all the colors, this is the normal sort of data you would see on a monitor heart rate, pulse, oxygen within the blood, and respiration.

Body temperature rising, pulse rising ... he's in a state of oxygen deficiency.

Check resisted opposition strength of the thumb to check the median nerve and resisted digit abduction for the ulnar nerve.

If the patient has reproduction of pain or numbness, consider thoracic outlet syndrome.

We don't need any of that. We work on a beating heart.

So this is just three years of data right here and there's a decade of this data.

And let me actually show you where the blood vessels come from. These are called coronary vessels I just write the word coronary here.

There is actually a little spot right there that they drain in to.

And then, when the heart is ready to pump it back out, it goes into this artery, and the name of it is the aorta.

And so I think we can roll the video that we have.

This is now going to dump into what we call a venule.

You might think, Boy, is there a context expensive grammar out there? What's the opposite of free?

I'm going to do some surgery here.

I'll write that right here.

The Balkan Mountain range runs across Bulgaria from west to east.

I could just write artery and vein and essentially they would be behaving this way.

Now, to start the journey, it's gonna have to out of the left ventricle and into the largest artery of the body.

So in 1980, some researchers did a study on a drug called lorcainide, and this was an anti arrhythmic drug, a drug that suppresses abnormal heart rhythms, and the idea was, after people have had a heart attack, they're quite likely to have abnormal heart rhythms, so if we give them a drug that suppresses abnormal heart rhythms, this will increase the chances of them surviving.

Coronary vessels So, coronary artery and vein.

And the veins actually drain into a spot , directly into the right atrium.

And on the right you actually see a carotid artery that was engineered.

I think she cut both arteries. I could hardly feel her pulse.

And you might say, well that wasn't so difficult. I'll say bronchial vessels, because there are also some veins coming off.

So these two veins, the superior vena cava and the inferior vena cava, are dragging the blood back to the heart, and, generally speaking, these are all considered, of course, veins.

So, all I can say is, thank you, and that's my presentation for you.

And these two veins, this is also a vein, these two veins are actually dragging blood in from all over the body, into the heart.

Right it's gonna have to go away from the heart. So that's the aorta. The aorta actually has the little arch like that.

My pulse is slow.

So you have these arteries right over here, the red tubes. Those are arteries. and then the blue ones are veins.

The veins of leaves.

There's also another one over here called the superior vena cava, and this is bringing back blood from the arms and head.

And at the bottom here, you can't see it because it's on the other side of the heart, but there's another vein called the inferior vena cava.

Well, these vessels, all of them, together are called coronary vessels.

Now, when you look at some of the data on the screen above, things like heart rate, pulse, oxygen, respiration rates, they're all unusual for a normal child, but they're quite normal for the child there, and so one of the challenges you have in health care is, how can I look at the patient in front of me, have something which is specific for her, and be able to detect when things start to change, when things start to deteriorate?
