The world is changing more and more quickly.

(Laughter)

This is a time of need.

The sweep of the times is changing rapidly.

Globalization is getting more complex.

First of all, viruses are pretty complex, but they're also evolving very fast.

You're looking at the outside shell of the virus, and the yellow color here are those parts of the virus that are evolving very, very fast, and the blue parts are not evolving very fast.

There was a sudden change in the weather.

Rapid cell deterioration.

Basically, it took a billion years to have life on Earth.

And if you remember the idea of slope from your Algebra 1 class that's exactly what acceleration is, in this diagram right over here

The country was industrialized very quickly.

Beijing is changing so rapidly.

It's moving faster than any of us ever imagined it would. It's moving fast.

Computers have made rapid progress.

That stuff in our blood is supposed to jumpstart evolution.

This signaled the start of agriculture.

Frankly, what we're seeing now in this environment is a massive time, when the entire world is changing as we move from a time when audience numbers are plummeting.

And just as the biosphere has been severely eroded, so too is the ethnosphere

And it's this science, which is not only enlightening our understanding of the biological world, but also transforming our world faster than ever.

The economy is rapidly deteriorating and unemployment is climbing.

Or, more importantly, HlV, where the virus evolves so quickly the vaccines that are made today can't keep up with those evolutionary changes.

The process is feeding on itself and becoming, I guess, autocatalytic is the word for it when something reinforces its rate of change.

Circumstances don't determine who you are, they reveal who you are.

So we have a constant velocity of 5 m s so its magnitude is 5 m s, and it's constant, it's not changing as the seconds ticks away, the velocity does not change

The temperature's dropping too rapidly.

But it clearly cools down.

You see, I think what's happened, perhaps, is that we've not noticed that change I described earlier.

You see, the Emperor is mad for all things Western and the Samurai believe it's changing too fast.

Often, language definitions like C or Java or C or JavaScript they don't change very quickly, if they change at all.

They can't do very much.

So we, the millennials I am just a millennial are like foot soldiers, moving us from a culture of me to a culture of we.

It deteriorates so quickly in the tropics that we've had to put this special vaccine monitor on every single vial so that it will change very quickly when it's exposed to too much heat, and we can tell that it's not a good vaccine to use on a child it's not potent it's not going to protect them.

Things, just got a lot worse.

Well we can think about it two ways 1) We know that velocity is equal to displacement over change in time and displacement is just change in position so this is change in position over change in time or 2) another way to think about it, if you multiply both sides by change in time you get velocity times change in time, is equal to displacement

It might be a very slight change, but change is change.

And it's a lively and a lovely place, but we're rapidly changing the oceans with our not only with our overfishing, our irresponsible fishing, our adding of pollutants like fertilizer from our cropland, but also, most recently, with climate change, and Steve Schneider, I'm sure, will be going into greater detail on this.
