The quiet country road is a road to danger.

The third thing is again cities.

It's not something that we should be surprised by.

A chance that we the workers have to go on showing that we're capable.

(Music) I used to sit with the ordinary village man because I am from a village, and suddenly you turn around and seem to be in contact with his inner being, you seem to be one with him.

Once there was a poor farmer in the village.

There were once poor farmers in that village.

And then I thought out of curiosity

What would happen if a garden city is combined with community business?

We set up a foundation.

My uncle has a farm in the village.

And that urbanization is extraordinary, accelerated pace.

Now, this is a conversation that often calls up a lot of guilt.

It's been proved self care is cost effective.

Once there was a poor farmer in the village.

I didn't read music, but I played synthesizers and drum machines.

Only 6.8 percent of all our philanthropic giving in the U.S. right now benefits rural communities, and yet 20 percent of our population lives there.

They connect people rather than dividing them.

And then to support the surgeon, we require a certain workforce.

It has one in three of its children living in poverty, and it's what is referred to as a rural ghetto.

It's said that Japan's rural landscape has changed greatly.

When we do it, we will put the cost of care down.

So this is a story of a place that I now call home.

So there's only 27 people per square mile, which comes down to about 10 people per square kilometer.

We created a space called the Young Girls Transformative Project.

It's the dependence on farm subsidies and under performing schools and higher poverty rates in rural areas than in urban.

But then somebody actually launched this start up called

Now, I'm sure a male reporter in Kabul can find women to interview.

And if we can eventually get good solar in space, that also could help.

The real question is, how can markets be developed in rural Africa to harness the power of innovation and entrepreneurship that we know exists?

I've been farming on this land for about five years... since 2007, and I'm certified organic since 2001.

We had fallen in love with the place and the people and the work that we're able to do in a rural place like Bertie County, that, as designers and builders, you can't do everywhere.

And I found out later that it was Julius' first day in Nairobi, and he's one of many.

And as a result of this program, something's happening for conservation.

African farmers only use some 22 kilograms of fertilizer per hectare, compared to 144 in Asia.

The election of the village headman had been postponed.

So while this is a very small story, we hope that it represents a step in the right direction for the future of rural communities and for the future of public education and hopefully also for the future of design.

Ordinary people know about this because if you go to a village in India, they might not have gone to engineering college, but no one makes a roof placed like this.
