For the men in these photographs, the primary cause of their wrongful conviction was mistaken identification.

And I photographed all of the wrongfully convicted at sites that came to particular significance in the history of their wrongful conviction.

Believers, do not exchange your property in wrongful ways unless it is in trade by mutual agreement. Do not kill one another. God is All merciful to you.

Say, My Lord has forbidden indecency, both open and hidden, sin and wrongful oppression and that, without His sanction, you associate things with Him, and that you say things about Him without knowledge.

Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book, and maintain the prayer. Indeed the prayer restrains from indecent and wrongful conduct, and the remembrance of Allah is surely greater. And Allah knows whatever deeds you do.

God has heard the statement of those who said, God is poor, and we are rich. We will write down what they said, and their wrongful killing of the prophets and We will say, Taste the torment of the burning.

Say My Lord forbiddeth only indecencies, such of them as are apparent and such as are within, and sin and wrongful oppression, and that ye associate with Allah that for which no warrant hath been revealed, and that ye tell concerning Allah that which ye know not.

Lo! those who disbelieve and bar (men) from the way of Allah and from the Inviolable Place of Worship, which We have appointed for mankind together, the dweller therein and the nomad whosoever seeketh wrongful partiality therein, him We shall cause to taste a painful doom.

Say, My Lord has forbidden the indecencies, the apparent among them and the hidden, and sin and wrongful excesses, and forbidden that you ascribe partners with Allah for which He has not sent down any proof, and forbidden that you say things concerning Allah of which you do not have knowledge.

Tell them (O Muhammad) 'My Lord has only forbidden indecent acts, whether overt or hidden all manner of sin wrongful transgression and He has forbidden that you associate with Allah in His divinity that for which He has sent down no sanction and that you ascribe to Allah things of which you have no sure knowledge that they are from Him.'

O you who have faith! Do not follow in Satan s steps. Whoever follows in Satan s steps should know that he indeed prompts you to commit indecent and wrongful acts. Were it not for Allah s grace and His mercy upon you, not one of you would ever become pure. But Allah purifies whomever He wishes, and Allah is all hearing, all knowing.
